This weekend the wire and cable industry makes a move to Atlanta, Georgia, for Interwire – the largest and longest- running exhibition in North America for our industry. What follows is a week of debuting new machinery, talking with old friends and making new ones at the Georgia World Congress Center with exhibitors, speakers and visitors heading into town from more than 50 countries. Feel free to stop by Booth 222 to get your free issue of wiredInUSA and sister publications EuroWire and Wire & Cable ASIA. Our coverage starts on page 42. $575m gets you a lot these days – including a subsea fiber optic cable system between Argentina and Brazil. Seaboard Networks and Grupo Werthein have announced their agreement to build the APBR system. It will be a four- fiber pair system with an initial maximum design capacity of 48Tb per second and an expected completion date in the second half of 2018. The full story can be found on page 9.
