Bar T Rodeo’s Broken Arrow retiring after Wrangler NFR Headed to Pasture SHORT ROUND

B ar T Rodeo’s bull Broken Arrow, who has competed at the last four Wrangler National Finals Rodeos, will retire following competing in the 2019 Wrangler NFR in Las Vegas, Dec. 5-14. “He’s very quick and athletic, and he moves very easy,” said Jeff Flitton, the general manager of Bar T Rodeo. “It’s genetics, as well. He goes back to all the right stuff. It’s time (for him to retire). oldest daughter of Wrangler NFR barrel man John Harrison. Addie will be the other kid caster with Blayze Fallis for the Polaris Ranger Off Road Questions, which will appear in the NFR Preshow. She will also be in the ProRodeo Zone from 5:30-6 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6. Celebrity Dale Brisby will be in the ProRodeo Zone every night from 5:30-6:30 p.m. (PT). At 5:30 p.m., he will be on stage, then from 6-6:30 p.m. he will be signing autographs at the RAM booth. Fans also will have a chance to receive Wrangler NFR ticket upgrades and Wrangler NFR tickets for the remaining rounds. In the 2019 regular season, Broken Arrow had seven outs with three qualified rides. Dalan Duncan had the highest-scored ride this season aboard Broken Arrow at 88 points to finish second at the Lion’s Dixie Roundup in St. George, Utah, Sept. 21. On Aug. 26, 2017, Tim Bingham had a 91.5-point ride on Broken Arrow to win the Golden Spike Rodeo in Tremonton, Utah. “I would rather have him (Broken Arrow) quit on top,” Flitton said. “He’s rideable, and that’s what cowboys like about him.” During Round 6 of the 2018 Wrangler NFR, Trey Benton III failed to make the whistle on Broken Arrow.

The ProRodeo Zone will be back at the 2019 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas, Dec. 5-14. The ProRodeo Zone is just outside the Thomas & Mack Center. Before each round, fans can check out the shopping and entertainment options in the ProRodeo Zone, which opens at 4:30 p.m. (PT) before each performance and one hour after each performance. Admission is free to check out the vendors and the talent on the RAM PRCA main stage. For Wrangler NFR tailgaters, there are plenty of experiences at the ProRodeo Zone, like seeing Addie Harrison, who is the Silcox, Joe Frost and Shane Proctor won Wrangler NFR go-rounds on Broken Arrow. Broken Arrow, a big, long-legged, black bull with big horns, tips the scale around 1,600 pounds. “He’s never gotten gentle,” Flitton said. “Back in March of 2016 we were running him to get paperwork to go traveling for the summer and he hooked me and put me in intensive care for about a week. He broke my sternum and six ribs in two places apiece and punctured my lung. I recovered from that and we’re still buddies.”
