Student Aid Index (SAI) The Student Aid Index (SAI) is an eligibility index number that the Office of Financial Aid uses to determine how much federal student aid you would receive if you attended the school. This number results from the financial information you and your contributor(s) provide on your FAFSA form. studentaid. gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa . This number is not a dollar amount of aid eligibility or what your family is expected to provide. A negative SAI indicates the student has a higher financial need. Appeal (FAFSA): If a student has a change in financial circumstances there are times the financial aid eligibility can be reconsidered. It can be submitted anytime, but there must be a FAFSA on file to submit an appeal. Learn about the different types of loans you are eligible for and be mindful of the ones you accept. After you graduate, you will have to pay back your loans at different interest rates.

University grant: University grants are funds awarded to students that do not need to be repaid. Funds are awarded by the university based on student need and FAFSA information.
