Follow the Poqueira ravine to reach the upper Alpujarra. There you'll find Pampaneira , Bubión and Capileira , three picturesque villages with typical Alpujarra architecture and places selling leather, pottery and textile handicrafts. Then on to Trevélez , one of the highest towns in Spain. In this little town you'll have incredible views of the Sierra Nevada. Your journey continues along the A-4132 through towns like Juviles , Mecina Bombarón , Yegen , Válor and

Puerto de la Ragua . In all of them they serve excellent ham. You can make the return trip along the A-438 which crosses the Alpujarra a lit- tle further to the south.
