This story is aimed for children who are just recently learning what autism is. In this story Zane the zebra has autism and learns to ac- cept himself no matter what his classmates say. It teaches children to accept other children with this special condition and treat them as normal kids. Andy and His Yellow Frisbee by Mary Thompson This book tells the story of a new girl attending a new school and trying to be friends with an autistic boy named Andy. The new girl does not understand what is wrong with Andy. Andy’s sister Rosie explains to the new girl all about Andy’s condition. This gives chil- dren a broader explanation about autism. This book teaches children how to interact with other children who have autism. It gives children tips and assistance on how to react to autism, and how to befriend or deal with someone who has it. My Brother is Different by Barbara J. Morvay If you or your child have a sibling with autism then this is the perfect story for you. It gives the best explanation on what autism is and how it affects your sibling. It also explains how to deal with it, and how you should love you sibling no matter what. Since We’re Friends by Celeste Shally and David Harrington For children who are unsure of what autism actually is this book helps the, graphs and idea of it. It is a picture book aimed for the very young children. It helps give them an idea on how autism af- fects someone’s behavior and life.
