Aluminium precision drawn tubes

Tan-V-Tech India, manufactures aluminium redrawn profiles, tubes, sections, rods, profile rods, linear motion parts, pipes, strips and coils, and is a specialist in non- ferrous drawing. The company, which has recently doubled its production capacity, suppliesdrawnaluminiumtubes tomany pneumatic cylinder manufacturers. Tolerances are as close as ±0.02 on both OD and ID, and products feature a reduced weight compared to extruded tubes, with no eccentricity or ovality. Tan-V-Tech’s production range is from 1mm to 100mm OD, with thickness ranging from 0.1mm to 20mm. The company, which has already developed ISO series dimension tubes, can also develop special sizes, according to Aluminium,

customers’ requirements, to enable proper cutting, chamfering, threading and flaring. Tubes in small cut length can also be supplied. The company has special instrument to check all parameters relating to pneumatic barrels. Aluminium drawn tubes can be provided in a range of alloys, depending on the application, including 1050, 1070, 1100 F, 2012, 3100, 3103, 5052, 6061, 6063, 6351, and 6082. The line project facility has a capacity of 30,000 tubes per year.

Production facilities include a continuous mandrel mill for the production of seamless pipes from 32 to 114.3mm; general finishing floors, including testing equipment; a quench and tempering heat treatment line for seamless OCTG and transport line pipes; upsetting lines for seamless OCTG; non-destructive testing (ultrasonic, electromagnetic, magnetic and vortex-current); lines for pipe and coupling threading, hydrotesting, coating and bundling; and finishing line and annealing heat treatment line for boiler pipes. Extended range of aluminium pipe plugs

Super-fast cutting machine

Huntingdon Fusion Techniques Ltd, UK, (HFT Pipestopper ™ Division) has extended its product range and introduced four new diameters of aluminium pipe plug to the market. These plugs, also known as pipe (end) stoppers or test plugs, are primarily used in petrochemistry, water supply and effluent, as well as in power stations and the construction business. Aluminium plugs from HFT are suitable for use whenever a pipe or duct needs to be temporarily sealed for a leakage test or for other reasons. The extended product range now includes plugs with 40, 65, 90 and 115mm diameters, so that pipes ranging in diameter from 40 to 165mm can now be sealed. The plugs are manufactured using a new process, which ensures higher quality at the same price. The company was able to lower production costs to an extent that enabled the price rises of polymers (rubber seals) during recent months to be offset, allowing a stable price to be maintained and guaranteed. The plugs are normally supplied with a seal manufactured from natural rubber. For special uses, seals manufactured from various synthetic rubbers can

Duet is a new Sica patent for a machine and cutting method for producing large quantities of short pipes on high-speed extrusion lines.

Duet cuts pipes made of PP, HDPE and PVC-U, and the 125 version, for PP pipe, makes as many as 35 bevelled cuts per minute, achieving an hourly production rate of over 2,000 crop ends 150mm long.

The machine’s electronic control unit allows the programming of the quantities of crop ends of different lengths that are to be produced in succession or at the same time. High precision in the length of the crop end (±1mm) is guaranteed by the ‘cutting on the go’ CNC control system (Sica patent), synchronised with the pipe speed and precise positioning on the point of the pipe to be cut.

For bevel cutting, Duet 125 allows the installation of interchangeable cutters to a new Sica design with better efficiency and less noise.

The machine includes the innovations already applied to the TRS series of planetary saws: the system for moving the carriage with belt drives, the expansion of the shavings extraction systems (Dust Jet type of Sica devices) to collect the extracted product in a single place, and the expansion of the planetary unit rotation system, with the motor members positioned outside the machine’s rotating drum, to reduce the inertia of the drum and make the cutting operations faster.
