The company’s plants are usedmainly for the production of pipes in API standard, and pipes are also manufactured in accordance with AWWA, DIN, BS, ASTM and Turkish Standards to serve the petroleum, gas, waterline projects and construction industries. US Steel Košice – Stand 7D07 US Steel Košice sro, Slovak Republic, is part of the United States Steel Corporation, a steel producer with annual capability of 26.8 million tons.

a largely automated pipe production process. Steel sheet with machined edges is formed into a pipe shape and welded from both sides by an automatic submerged welder using an electrical arc, followed by cutting to required lengths with bevelled trims. Each pipe passes a series of non- destructive tests: ultrasound and x-ray inspections, pressure testing and a visual inspection from both outside and inside. All results are recorded and archived. The diameters of produced pipes range from 406 to 1,420mm, wall thickness from 5 to 14.3mm and length from 8 to 18m. Annual production capability is approximately 60,000 tons. The pipes are used mainly for gas, crude oil and water distribution lines and for other civil engineering and structural purposes. The pipes are made from materials with strengths up to X 70 according to specification API Spec 5L. The products are also fully compliant with several European standards.
