SOPHOMORE (2008:) Schmidt missed the 2008 season with an inju ry fo llowing offseason surgery.

FRESHMAN (2007): Earned Freshman Al l-America honors from Collegiate Basebal l after going 6- 1 with a 3.12 ERA ... Appea red in 16 games, making seven starts ...Struck out 27 batters in 43.1 innings on the mound ... Held opponents to a .238 average (15- for-63) with runners on base ... Was the winning pitcher in the MVC Tournament championship game aga inst Wich ita State (5/ 26) after pitch ing two hitless innings of relief ... Team won in both of his starts against in-state riva l Nebraska ... Pitched 5.1 scoreless inn ings against the Huskers in Lincoln on April 17 in a no-decision, an eventual 2-1 CU win ... Picked up the victory against Nebraska at Rosenb latt Stadium on May 15 in the rub– ber match,allowing only two run s in fi ve inningsof a 9-2 Bluejay win ...Was the winning hurler in CU 's 21-1 1 win over Albany (6/ 2) in the NCAA Reg ionals ... Defeated Kansas State (4/ 11 ) with fi ve innings of scoreless wo rk as the starter in a 3- 1 win, striking out a ca reer-high fi ve Wildcats ... Also picked up wins over Northern Iowa (4/ 1) and North Dakota State (5/ 9) ...Pitched career-high six innings in the victory over NDSU ...
