Friulana Flange, established more than 25 years ago, is a manufacturer and trader of flanges, connections for piping, component accessories and mechanical details according to customer drawings. The company is also equipped for the production of tube plates, quick opening closures, reinforcing components nozzles and several components used in heat exchangers and pressure vessels. The company is involved in a variety of fields, including petrochemical, thermo- hydraulic, mechanical, naval, building, power generation, pharmaceutical and feed. The main materials used are carbon steel, high yield carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, duplex/ super duplex steel, titanium alloy and copper alloy. An R&D division was set up to spearhead and manage research activities, and a special works division was established for the design and

development of special processing and large diameter flanges. Both branches have CNC machines equipped with the latest technologies to carry out turning, drilling and milling of the flanges. The Special Division production plant can manufacture flanges with a diameter up to 2,300mm and with a maximum weight of 8,000kg. The company maintains a well-stocked warehouse, which has an area of 9,000m 2 and stores more than 4,000 tons of raw material. Each item sold or kept in stock is identified by a marking made on the piece. As well as proving the origin of the item, the marking enables the entire history of the individual flange to be traced, from the base material to the finished piece. To avoid finished items rusting during transport and storage, flanges undergo a special protection, during which they are washed, soaked and dried in an oven. The product is water-soluble and has no impact on the environment. Flanges are supplied to the customer packed on pallets or in wooden boxes, preferred for export. The entire pallet is covered with thermo retractable covers and reinforced with straps to increase stability.

Each process is monitored and recorded: every finished flange goes through checks at receipt of the raw material, during machining and before packing. All products are supplied with a EN10204 3.1 inspection certificate to confirm their origin. In the company’s internal laboratory, chemical analysis on the products is carried out using a spectrometer. The tests are PMI (positive material identification), and check analysis (to scan each element of the heat used for a flange). The laboratory is also equipped to adjust the control instruments. All mechanical tests to qualify and check the raw materials are implemented through external laboratories.

Markin Galfan ® with topcoat is a technically advanced cost-effective alternative coating for steel tubing. Applied in-line to the outside surface of the steel tube, Markin Galfan ® with epoxy topcoat create a coating that provides over 3000 hours of salt spray protection.

Non-destructive tests are also performed with the cooperation of external staff.

If requested by the customer, further controls can be carried out by third party inspectors such as RINA, Lloyd’s Register, Bureau Veritas, ABS, DNV, SGS, TUV, and national and international bodies.
