In addi- tion to servmg aboard numerous warships, he commanded the Presidential yacht, U.S.S. May- flower, under Presidents Wilson and Harding, was a member of the Narnl l\lission in Brazil and was Narnl Attache in the Ameri- can Embassy at Rome. Prior to his being assigned to duty as Commandant of the Elev- enth Kava! District, Admiral served with the Navy's Board in Washington, Accompanying the Most Rev- erend Bishop in Commandant were the Reverend Daniel O'Donoghue, pastor of St. John of the Cross Church, Lemon Grove, Lt. Comdr. E. Robert An- derson, U.S.N., and Lt. William P. Mahedy, U.S.N.
