Many will go here and there to increase knowledge.” (Daniel 12: 1-4) ‘ “Then I, Daniel, looked, and there before me stood two others, one on this bank of the river and one on the opposite bank. One of them sa i d t o t he man c l o t hed i n l i nen , who was abov e t he wa t e r s o f t he r i v e r , ‘How long will it be before these astonishing things are fulfilled?’ The man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, lifted his right hand and his left hand toward heaven, and I heard him swear by Him who lives forever, saying, ‘It will be for a t ime , t ime s and ha l f a t ime . When the power of the holy people has been finally broken, all these things will be completed.’ I heard, but I did not understand. So I asked, ‘My lord, what will the outcome of all this be?’ He replied, ‘Go your way, Daniel, because the words are closed up and sealed until the time of the end. Many will be purified, made spotless and refined, but the wicked will continue to be wicked. None of the wicked will understand, but those who are wise will understand.’” “ From the time that t he da i l y sa c r i f i c e i s abo l i shed and the abomination that causes desolation is set up, there will be 1,290 days. Blessed is the one who waits for and reaches the end of the 1,335 days. ‘As for you, go your way till the end. You will rest, and then at the end of the days you will rise to receive your allotted inheritance.’” (Daniel 12: 1-13) Jesus our LORD is the man clothed in linen [linen is symbolic of purity], above the waters of the river, and the man on the opposite bank is the son of man, a mere man chosen and anointed by Jesus in a future time. Remember the Old Testament is prophecy, a vision revealed to Daniel before time, and Jesus emphasized the necessity for the reader to understand this when reflecting on Daniel’s words. The secret revealed to Daniel was locked up until the time of the end, but revealed by a witness. “After six days Jesus took Peter, James and John with him and led them up a high mountain, where they were all alone. There he was transfigured before them. His clothes became dazzling white, whiter than anyone in the world could bleach them. And there appeared before them Elijah and Moses, who were talking with Jesus. Peter said to Jesus, ‘Rabbi, it is good for us to be here. Let us put up three shelters − one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah.’ [He did not know what to say, they were so frightened.] Then a cloud appeared and enveloped them, and a voice came from the cloud: ‘Th i s i s my Son , whom I l ov e .
