2018 March Board Book

Lotte Food is developing new cheese cake using CDI cream cheese only

Lotte Food is a sister company of Lotte International which are importing California Cream Cheese from Pacific Cheese. Lotte Food is developing new recipes for cheese cake and they used only California cream cheese for them. They wanted to put the RCM seal on the packaging of the cheese cake product that will be distributed to CVS and other supermarkets. We could not allow that they produced the packaging with the RCM seal but proposed other means of support such as demonstrations, production of POS, and sales promotions. These products will be introduced in late February or March and any promotions are not yet been confirmed. After meeting with buyers of E Mart and Hyundai Department Store, Gourmet F&B decided to sell CA cheese products at Yongsan store of E Mart and Coex store of Hyundai Department Store. Gourmet is operating these 2 stores and the monthly sales of each are $20,000 and $30,000, respectively. • Target stores: 2 stores (1 store of E Mart, 1 store of Hyundai Department Store) • Period: 2 weeks • Timing: Early or late February 2018 • Gourmet picked 6 brands – Joseph Farms, Point Reyes, Fiscalini, Rumiano, Rizo Brothers, and King Cheese – but gave up King Cheese because their products are including meat that needs more time to register the facilities and prepare the needed documents. Rizo Brothers did not confirm if they would export the products (Oaxaca) to Korea and Gourmet decided to exclude Rizo Brothers’ product for this event. After fixing the product list, Gourmet will order enough products for the cheese event at 2 stores. As we don’t have enough time for quarantine before the event, the products should be shipped by air and CMAB will support the cost for air flight charge only. We will provide the cheese sampler boxes with leaflet and support the demonstration at stores. We sent the draft of the leaflet through email and are waiting for the approval. E Mart started conducting sales competition promotions to promote the sales of California cheese products from October 1 through the online mall and offline stores. E Mart, the 1 st largest supermarket chain with 146 stores nationwide, is selling 9 kinds of California cheese with the RCM seal with monthly sales of $300,000 on average. E Mart invited all stores, selling these CA cheese products, to participate in the sales competition from October to December. As of December 31st, the sales of California cheese has increased by 62% compared with the previous year. Retail & On-line promotion with E Mart Cheese Event in 2018
