What Does the Scale Interceptor Do? The Scale Interceptor prevents the development of scale on commercial water and beverage equipment. The Scale Interceptor should be installed on a clean machine so that the breakdown of existing deposits doesn’t harm or cause problems to the machine. How Does it Work? The Scale Interceptor is a permanently energized ionic inducer composed of rare earth metals. This reduces the adhesive bond between dissolved (calcium and magnesium) minerals in your water as it passes through your equipment. The one time installation provides maintenance-free, scale-free equipment.
