Commodore’s Comments:

Commodore, Brian McEvoy

Good Evening Everyone! First, I would like to welcome the NCYC 2015 First Mates Board of Directors! Thank you for joining us for tonight's meeting. The First Mates consistently provide hours of volunteer time, provide fun filled events, provide support for NCYC projects, and provide support for this Board. Thank you ladies! You are an important asset to NCYC and we truly value your participation and opinions. It is important that this Board respect what the First Mates of NCYC have accomplished and keep an open mind when discussing new opportunities. Renee and I would like to thank everyone who attended the 2015 Commodore's Ball. We had a great time and we were very happy we could share such a special night with such great friends and family. Many thanks to everyone who helped us pull off this event, and to all of you who came in Saturday morning for set up. 2015 projects are already under way. The Point of Sale (POS) system has arrived! Ian and Marie joined me for our first training session on the system this past Monday. The system is very powerful and will offer us many advantages and new opportunities moving forward. Ian with Marie's help will be writing instructions on system operation and prepare an agenda for training sessions we will conduct at each of the work parties prior to the club opening. Rear Commodore Pat Carroll will also let us know tonight about the member orientation he is working on for new members, and he will also prepare an agenda to conduct orientation sessions for any member wishing to participate. We will encourage everyone to attend one of the sessions to become better versed in club by laws and rules and procedures. Thank You! Vice-Commodore’s Comments: Vice Commodore, Chuck Stroh A big congratulations to Commodore Brian and his wife Renee for a great job on the Commodores Ball. It honored the clubs great tradition and was a great time for all who attended. I was not able to attend the recent snowmobile event, no doubt it was a great time. However, there is still one more off-season opportunity, Midland with ABYA. Sandi and I hope to see each of you there to enjoy your fellow NCYC members and supporting a great cause. Harley needs our help to get the word out that (2) week manager volunteers are still needed. Please let everyone know that there is still a need and if they are interested please call Harley. It makes for great fun when two or more couples join forces and work the week together. It also allows flexibility to get off the island for other obligations as well.
