1. Position the insertion point anywhere in the table you want to sort. The insertion point is placed in the table. 2. Select the Layout contextual tab on the Ribbon . The Layout contextual tab appears. 3. In the Data group, select the Sort button. The Sort dialog box opens with the first column header selected in the Sort by box. 4. Under My list has , select the desired option based on whether the table

A list of available column headings is displayed.

6. Select the column by which you want to sort. The column heading appears in the Sort by box.

A list of available sort types appears.

Click Text

The selected sort type appears in the Type box.
