GOLF COURSE MAINTENANCE

Dear Members, We were very pleased with the conditioning of the Founders Course for our first Regions Tradition! The tournament proved to be a great learning experience for myself and my staff. We will utilize the things that we learned to make the course even better for next years’ tournament as well as for everyday play. The Founders Course will be closed July 5 – July 21 for the aerification of greens, tees, fairways, and roughs. Green and tee aerification will be comparable to the past several years. Fairway aerification will be ramped up this year, with an increase in the amount of sand topdressing to nearly double what we applied last year. This will help us to more rapidly improve the health and playability of the fairways. With the addition of some new aerifiers this spring, we are now equipped to aerify roughs and will be doing so during the closed period as well.

We are now in the summer stress period for the bentgrass greens at the Legacy Course. To help combat the stress, the greens fans are on and the staff is out wilt watching greens on a daily basis. This will continue until fall greens aerification on September 6. I hope that you enjoy your time on our two wonderful courses this summer! Thanks to the Members who have brought all the families to the Club this summer. Have you seen all the new faces?! Exciting times at Greystone and so grateful to be a part of a club that is growing! Greystone truly is a special place, that’s for sure! For the first time in our Club’s history we have hit 801 Members! That means only 199 Memberships remain to reach our capacity of 1000 Members. With a full Membership Roster comes a waitlist and with a waitlist comes greater exclusivity and the money to do a lot of great things around the Club.
