Allie Powell

Allie is a senior from Bennett, Colo., majoring in animal sci- ence and agricultural literacy. She got her start in agriculture by participating in the FFA Heifer Wrangle and NWSS Catch-a-Calf programs. She became further involved in 4-H and FFA during high school, cultivating her passion for agri-

culture. Allie wants to pursue a career in beef seedstock, public relations or event management industries. Being on the Events Committee, she has been preparing for CSU to participate in several industry events, including the NWSS, Colorado Cattlemen’s and National Cattlemen’s Beef Association conventions and the annual bull sale. She has enjoyed gaining more experience in these areas, as well as learning more about the seedstock industry.

Keegan Taylor

Farris Smith

Keegan is a junior animal sci- ence student at CSU. His appre- ciation for the livestock industry stemmed from his family’s small farm where they raised chickens and broilers in New Mexico. After receiving his bachelor’s degree, he is hoping to become a large animal veterinarian. Through his time in the Animal

Farris is a senior majoring in animal science and minoring in agricultural business. She grew up on her family’s commercial cow-calf operation in Northern California. She was an active member in 4-H for 12 years showing cattle. Farris is also a member of the CSU Rodeo Team, for which she’s competed

As co-chair of the Hands-On Committee, Keegan has spent considerable time with his teammates, gaining hands-on experience preparing cattle for the National Western Stock Show and the bull sale. He also looks forward to making connections in the industry he is passionate about.

Mary Thomas

Mary is an animal science stu- dent minoring in business admin- istration. She was raised in Pozo, Calif., helping her family man- age a cattle ranch, in addition to their own small Angus-cross cowherd. She also spent time showing various species of live- stock. Travis Walsh

Travis is a senior majoring in animal science. He grew up in Craig, Colo., but spent much of his time on his family’s ranch in Montrose, Colo. Growing up, he was very involved in 4-H and FFA.
