Ours is a small, nurturing school in the heart of The New Forest. Our Lady and St Joseph school aspires to provide a rich learning experience where children are encouraged to become successful learners, confident individuals and responsible citizens. Do visit us on Tuesday 15th October at 9.30am, Wednesday 13th November at 9.30am, or Thursday, 5th Decem- ber at 9.30am. At this time, you can tour the school with me, ask questions and see our fantastic IT provision, library bus, great play spaces and beautiful growing gar- dens and grounds. We value each child’s contribu- tion to our community and look to develop the whole child. Our core purpose is to provide a deep learn- ing experience for our children throughout their primary lives, so that they are resilient, happy, well-mannered and secure. Our aim is to provide your chil- dren with the skills to reach their full potential. We do this through our exciting, high-quality curric- ulum, which enables children to develop a ‘thirst’ for learning and
to be challenged appropriately throughout their life at our school. We believe that children who are happy and safe achieve well. We strive for high standards and ex- pect excellent academic progress and excellent behaviour. We want all our children to thrive, aspire and achieve their personal best. From sailing, sports and socialis- ing; through to achieving academic potential and taking their place as an active citizen in our world. Research tells us that high quali- ty teaching and learning has a high impact on our children’s happiness and academic outcomes. The vast majority of our classes are taught with a 15:1 adult ratio. These small classes enable teachers to get to know each child as an individual and target both their academic and personal development. Chil- dren play and learn in harmony with each other. There is respect and rigour; exploration and inves- tigation. We care for each child’s individual needs, building their confidence and encouraging them to be creative and independent to prepare them for their life beyond

Our outdoor learning provision is something we love to shout about, and makes effective use of our excellent facilities, both on- site and in our local area. Our pu- pils know that learning is not con- fined to the classroom and love learning in our swimming pool and Eco-Pod outdoor classroom or through our ‘Little Wood’ Forest Schools program, Beach Schools program, and excellent sports cur- riculum. Our international links are growing with sister schools in both Spain and Nepal. 2019/20 promis- es to build on this with joint stu- dent projects happening between ourselves and schools in India and China, ensuring that our pupils have a global outlook and a grow- ing understanding of world issues.
