DLI 2nd Grade Guide

End of Unit Competency Students are introduced to the concept of government. Students learn about the rights and responsibilities of citizenship, explain how people must work together to resolve confict, and understand the importance of respecting differences.

Wonders Content Integration Unit 5

Wonders Unit 5 Text Set 2’s essential question is “What do Good Citizens Do?” with activities embedded throughout the two week spread. TE 152 Research and Inquiry-Students will research what a certain type of government leader does in offce.

Social Studies Strand 3 Standards 2.3.1: Defne the essential qualities of good community members; 2.3.2: Describe the responsibilities of citizens in the United States; 2.3.3: Provide examples of ways in which responsible community members have worked together to resolve conficts or solve problems within the community; 2.3.4: Describe ways a responsible government meets the basic needs of the local community; 2.3.5: Identify current leaders and discuss the traits of effective leaders.
