The golden color is that of the origi- nal wild hamsters. Cinnamon This is one of the oldest varieties of hamster, dating back to the 1950s and commonly found in pet stores. As the name suggests, the coat is a bright orange- brown overlaid with lighter colored hairs. The eyes are red but darken with age.
