Policy Title: LEAVE RECORDS

Leave records, including both annual leave and sick leave, are maintained on all professional personnel in the office of Human Resources. Charges are made against accumulated sick leave or annual leave, as provided elsewhere in this manual, upon receipt of a written request from the individual and the approval of appropriate administrative officials. Charges to the nearest one-quarter day increments against sick leave and charges to the nearest one-quarter day increments against annual leave are accumulated, and deductions are made monthly. When absences exceed accumulated time, the business office is notified so that salary adjustments can be made according to policy governing the particular leave. Leave records, including both annual leave and sick leave, are maintained on all personnel in the office of Human Resources. New, incoming personnel may not transfer unused leave from their previous employer to East Central Community College (ECCC). Any unused leave from a previous employer should be sent to PERS. Outgoing East Central personnel moving to another state-covered employer may transfer unused leave only if the receiving employer accepts transferred leave and the ECCC Personnel office is notified of the requested leave transfer prior to unused leave being sent to PERS.
