Notes from

Dear Friends,

Tonight I’m

Notes From Julia

Julia

in my quiet office. The bank has closed. All week I’ve pro- crastinated. This isn’t the first time I have delayed taking care of

something inevitable. I’ve simply found this task more difficult than others. You see, this will be my last “Notes from Julia,” as I’ll retire February 2. Many have asked what I will do in retirement and if my plans include travel. It will be a time of change, and I’m hesitantly excited about the prospects ahead. Many of you are wonderful examples that retirement years do indeed provide a fulfilling dimension to life. [I] look forward to spending time with Sam, my traveling companion, best friend, and husband of almost 48 years. We will make visits which have been placed “on the back burner” to friends and family. I in- tend to tackle bulging closets (and hopefully my waistline, too!). I’ll appreciate watching snowflakes fall in February, knowing that I can snuggle up in my comfortable chair with a book and “let the rest of the world go by.” And yes, we WILL travel. I already have booked an international trip in 2018. There are destinations in the United States we have not visited. It’s difficult to shake wanderlust! As I begin this new chapter of my life, I am confident in the continued success of AmeriClub. I appreciate the bank’s foresight in continuing this program, which enriches the lives of many. I am also confident that Connie Francis will successfully direct Ameri- Club, utilizing her boundless energy and genuine interest in others.

I wish to recognize my Marketing Department co-workers, who are instrumental in AmeriClub’s success. It is an honor to work with talented, dedicated colleagues who exhibit unwavering support and eager enthusiasm to assist me, par- ticularly during the many times I am out of the office. Very precious to me are the wonderful friendships forged with travel suppliers and fellow bank club directors who have been inspirational throughout my career. As I traveled with many of you to destinations near and far, you have shared your life experiences, adventures, and dreams. I have received tremendous satisfac- tion serving as a conduit to help you fulfill those dreams. I am truly grateful for your friendship and the wonderful memories. I have been blessed beyond measure. So, dear friends, this is not goodbye, but rather, it is “until we meet again.”

Fondly and with gratitude,

AmeriClub 3
