Contract heralds start of global growth plan Premier Hytemp, a manufacturer of precision engineered alloy components for the oil and gas industry, has secured new business potentially worth more than £25mn over the next three years, and is planning a significant expansion of its manufacturing capabilities in Scotland and Singapore. Their combined value in year one is around £7mn.

Company chairman Maurice McBride said, “Premier Hytemp is strongly positioned, with the full backing of its investor, to capitalise on new opportunities in the global oil and gas market while extending the range and depth of services it already provides to its extensive client base of original equipment manufacturers and leading service companies in the industry. Within the next year we intend to increase the scale of our Scottish manufacturing base and to expand our manufacturing operation in Singapore. The resulting new capacity will enhance our ability to meet the needs of a rising market and create up to 100 new jobs by 2017.” Since November 2012, the company has completed significant investment in Singapore, with a fourth heat treatment furnace and second set of quench tanks; new systems and procedures to deliver enhanced operational efficiency; and the development of a comprehensive strategy for the future direction of the business.

The firm, which recently announced the appointments of Campbell MacPherson as chief executive officer and Gavin Rippe as chief commercial officer, has been laying the foundations for global growth since its management buyout at the end of 2012. It is planning to expand its manufacturing operations, located in the UK and Singapore, to create additional capacity to meet market demand, and expects to increase its 200-strong worldwide workforce by up to 50 per cent in the next three years. Premier Hytemp is an expert in the manufacture and supply chain management of precision engineered alloy components for the energy sector onshore and offshore, including wellheads, valves and downhole tools.
