(Kerntechnischer Ausschuss). The finished products are installed in fuel assemblies for nuclear pressurised and boiling water reactors. Due to their corrosion resistance, high strength and low neutron absorption, zirconium alloys are an essential material for nuclear fuel cans operating in demanding environments that constantly expose to temperatures above 650°C for periods as long as five years. Zirconium alloys also find numerous applications predominantly in the chemical industry. Duisburg Tubes Production AG – Germany andras.kontz@dtp-ag.eu
