OMA PROGRAM – CALL FOR EXPERTS

The AOAC Official Methods of Analysis SM (OMA) Program is currently seeking experts to appoint in several areas as Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and Expert Review Panel (ERP) members to evaluate candidate methods for Official Methods of Analysis SM (OMA) Program. This Call for Experts is open to all interested candidates representing international and domestic organizations. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA All experts are expected to serve with the highest integrity and without direct or indirect conflicts of interest. All members of the ERP are expected to actively participate in ERP meetings and to perform duties and reviews in timely fashion. All members should maintain strict adherence to review timelines and deadlines. • Knowledge and understanding of AOAC’s Guidelines, references, and program processes. • Must be willing to travel to in-person meetings. • Must be knowledgeable in English, it is the procedural language in AOAC INTERNATIONAL. • Must be willing to work with electronic tools and E-books for the review of documents and interactive virtual meetings via audio and/or web. APPLICATION New experts are requested to submit the following: Selection is based upon the following criteria: • Proven expertise of the specific subject matter • A summary of expertise for the subject matter areas selected. • Upload a detailed curriculum vitae. • Please read AOAC’s Privacy Policy submitting your application . SELECTION PROCEDURES The selected candidates will be required to have read and understand AOAC’s Policies and Procedures and sign the Volunteer Acceptance Form (VAF). • Please ensure that you have read and understand AOAC’s Policies and Procedures as noted this email. The attached Volunteer Acceptance Form must be submitted as soon as possible • All ERP members are vetted by the AOAC Official Methods Board (OMB) and serve at the pleasure of the President of AOAC INTERNATIONAL. • The AOAC Official Methods Board appoints all reviewed and vetted members to participate as subject matter experts and expert review panel members. • AOAC maintains an open pool of experts. • All experts are selected and submitted for review based upon the subject matter need and AOAC staff will notify all potential experts of upcoming openings. Subject Matter Experts assist in testing protocol development, peer review of the validation study manuscript, and supporting documentation. Subject Matter Experts will participate as volunteers and will review protocols and validation reports for proprietary and commercial methods currently seeking validation through the AOAC Official Methods of Analysis SM (OMA) Program. All reviews are coordinated electronically, and subject matter experts do not need to attend any in-person meetings but must be available for teleconference, if needed. EXPERT REVIEW PANEL MEMBERS AOAC Official Methods of Analysis SM (OMA) Program Expert Review Panel members will assist in the review submitted method manuscripts being considered for AOAC First Action or AOAC Final Action Official Methods status. Please note that all interested Expert Review Panel members must be able attend the mandatory Expert Review Panel webinar sessions and participate in Expert Review Panel meetings in-person.
