Vos Prodect Innovations was recently contracted by Siem Offshore Contractors GmbH, regarding testing and delivery of sealed cable hang-off systems for two 155kV HVAC cables between two offshore substations in German waters.

Prysmian Group is claiming the widest range of energy and telecommunications cables compliant with the European construction products regulation (CPR). Date of Applicability of this harmonised standard was 10 th June 2016, with date of the end of the co-existence period set for 1 st July 2017. Prysmian has the required capabilities for fire testing, products positioning and materials development already in place to assist its customers through the transition period. “CPR is a unique turning point to enhance the level of safety and quality in the European cable market,” said Valerio Battista, CEO Prysmian Group. “This regulation will guarantee for any cable product intended to be used in construction works a certain level of performance in relation to their reaction to fire, resistance to fire and release of dangerous substances.” Prysmian has developed and launched a dedicated website and communications campaign addressed to decision makers, specifiers, professionals and customers.
