T he Red Legacy Dinner and Dance was held immediately following the International Super Sale at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo on March 1. This event originated as an opportunity for individuals to contribute to the Santa Gertrudis Foundation and enjoy an evening with Santa Gertrudis friends at the same time. The proceeds benefit Santa Gertrudis education and research. Santa Gertrudis breeders who utilize the tools available to them through advanced technology have seen increased profitability in their cattle. This progressive direction is possible through the Foundation and also ensures that future advancement and profits are possible. The event kicked off with information and an update on the Santa Gertrudis Foundation while everyone enjoyed a buffet dinner catered by Pappa’s Catering. Music for the dance was pro- vided by the band Horizon. In addition, everyone enjoyed taking pictures at the Forever Snapped photo booth. This event would not be possible without the support of our contributors. We’d like to thank all of our sponsors and ticket buyers for their contri- butions to the foundation.
