BUS TRANSPORTATION Hononegah Community High School, along with First Student, provides transportation to one address for each student who qualifies for busing. We do not allow students to ride any bus other than their assigned one. We do not sign notes to allow a student to ride a different bus route other than their own. If you have an emergency situation it must be arranged through Kelly Rosik in the Principal’s Office at 815-624-5005. DO YOU KNOW HONONEGAH HAS EARLY BIRD BUS ROUTES? Do you need to arrive early to school? All Hononegah students have access to Early Bird Bus routes. These routes are designed like city routes with established stops. There are five routes, and the routes and a map are posted on the school's website. They are also displayed at the student entrances, in the principal's office, the SSSOffice, Library and DAOffice. The routes run Monday through Friday each week. The routes are available to all students who want to arrive early to school to receive help from their teachers, take a 1st hour class, eat breakfast, serve detention, study in the Library or attend referred study hall. PHYSICAL EDUCATION UNIFORM Physical Education students are required to have their PE uniform (shirt, shorts, athletic shoes) daily. Shirt and shorts must be the HCHS approved. Options include grey or dri-fit shirt and purple shorts with Hononegah Physical Education logo or leggings with approved Hononegah H on the calf purchased from American Bell. Shoes must be rubber-soled athletic shoes that must be laced tight in order to prevent injury. Shirt and short rentals are available on a limited basis if a student forgets her/his PE shirt or shorts; athletic shoes are not available for rent. ATTENTION JUNIOR (2021)PARENTS The Illinois Department of Public Health requires students, upon entering the sixth and the twelfth grade of any public, private, or parochial school, to receive an immunization containing meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MCV4) in accordance with the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP). The immunization requirement consists of one dose of the MCV4 vaccine for 6th grade entrance and 2nd dose for 12 grade entrance. This can be given anytime on or after the 16th birthday. Hononegah Community High School participates in first day exclusion so this immunization will be required for 2019-2020 Senior students. The meningococcal vaccine may be given anytime during junior year. Please call the Nurse’s Office with any questions 815-624-5002. This documenta- tion can be brought to the nurse’s office as soon as you receive it.
DELIVERIES Parents are reminded that NO flowers, balloons, or other gifts may be delivered to students at Hononegah Community High School.
