It has to be considered that hexavalent chromium is a carcinogenic agent. This information is also described in the method ISO 1738 / IDF 12 (listed in CXS 234).

Some possible modifications could concern: 1) the definition of reagents with relation to the desired analytical grade. With relation to distilled or demineralized water, it should be free from chlorides; 2) the apparatus is not described; 3) repeatability and reproducibility are not mentioned ; the same thing can be affirmed when speaking of the minimum number of determinations; 4) blank test is needed; 5) finally, the calculation of results should take into account the difference between two determinations: Ml of used 0.1 M AgNO3 for the sample (Vs), and Ml of blank test (Vb).
