MOLO Mad about

CELEBRATING EDGY URBAN SCANDINAVIA, MOLO IS HIGH ON QUIRK, ALWAYS CURIOUS AND ENDLESSLY IMAGINATIVE.

Molo, a mashup of the founders’ first names, is the rebellious label out of Copenhagen that blends urban sensibility with a quirky love for prints. Founders Mogens Jepsen and Louise Frederiksen’s brand was born to feed a child’s imagination with strong colors, exciting designs and bold combinations. Molo’s all-over prints are one of the brand’s hallmarks. “A print is something any child can relate to and can easily fall in love with,” CEO Jepsen says. With the latest SS16 collection, the in-house team of 5 designers found inspiration from all over the world—“everything from music, postcards, travels and museums to people on the street, buildings and flea markets,” notes Jepsen. After deciding on a theme, he says, the team turns to shapes, materials, trends, colors and more, “in order to create an innovative collection with lots of new twists—but without compromising on quality.” This latest collection takes us back to the ’80s and ’90s with a sci-fi, sea-punk, safari, sunny LA remix, as only Molo could spin. We had the pleasure of chatting with Jepsen to dive deeper into the wild world of Molo.
