Craftsmen and merchants settled here and for centuries it was one of the most important cities in Spain. Its cathedral is one of the most beautiful examples of the Gothic style. There is a long list of monu ments you can visit: San Nicolás Church, Santa Gadea Church, San Esteban Gate way... Its name is a re minder of the presence of the Knights Templar who belonged to one of the most powerful Christian military orders in the Middle Ages.
