Tekno/Tube Arabia 2009 has been preponed by one day, with the organisers announcing the new dates as 10-13 January 2009. These major concurrent exhibitions, co-organised by Al Fajer Information & Service and Messe Düsseldorf, will take place for the second time in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Held again at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre, the 2009 event will be the 9 th international trade fair for industrial machinery, metalworking, machine tools, dies/moulds and tube/pipe. However, Tube Arabia featured as a separate section for the first time in 2007. An additional special section next year will be Moldex 2009. Tekno brings together the world’s leading manufacturers, sellers and buyers of light, medium and heavy machinery in a dynamic and vibrant Gulf market aggressively developing its industrial sector as a hedge against the uncertainty of oil prices. Flush with capital funds from an increase in the price of oil, Middle East countries have established industrial areas, while major industrial projects have grown steadily. Many free zones have been established which have succeeded in attracting a number of diversified industries. Tekno addresses the specific requirements of an industrializing economy. The event showcases a number of other exhibition sub-sections in addition to Tube Arabia. These include Arab International Industrial Machinery Show (AIM), International Machine Tools & Metalworking Machinery

Show (IMT), International Exhibition for Wires, Fasteners and Cables Industry (WIRE), International Woodworking Machinery and Equipment Exhibition (Woodmex), International Welding Exhibition (Inter-Weld), and the International Exhibition for Moulds and Dies (Moldex). Tube & Pipe Technology will present a full exhibition feature in the November 2008 issue, and will also be in attendance with an exhibition booth.

Dhatec move to new premises

Dhatec, the Netherlands, has moved to a major new production and office facility in Bergeijk. The move to the new building, which is close to the company’s original location, was carried out in order to accommodate future product developments and increase current stock and production capacity. A specialist in pipe-end protection since 1991, Dhatec has continually broadened its product programme and made strides in technical research and developments. The company now offers a range of solutions to maintain the quality of

linepipes from pipe mill through to construction site. The Dhatec range covers processes such as blasting, coating, handling, storage and transport. The company was in need of larger facilities to accommodate this expanded linepipe logistics range. The new building in Bergeijk fits the bill and provides the necessary space for the company’s expanded product programme. Dhatec BV – The Netherlands
