Istanbul the destination of ITA ’ s next technical conference

to attract potential delegates from Europe, the CIS and Russia, the Arab States and the Middle East, India and Africa. This should result in a healthy local attendance, notwithstanding the anticipated high level of interest from other countries in the region. The International Tube Association has revealed the location of its next major biennial conference as Istanbul, Turkey. Titled Pipe & Tube Istanbul 09 ‘Technology for quality, productivity and profit’ , the conference will take place from 2-3 November 2009. The conference will be organised jointly with Ilhas Fuar, the team behind the Boru exhibition. The event will form part of the ITA’s 30 th anniversary celebrations. Since its foundation, the ITA has organised over 40 technical conferences, seminars

and symposiums. Istanbul will join a distinguished list of recent venues like Dnepropetrovsk, Prague, Veracruz, Bilbao and Toronto for the most important conference in the association’s two-year timetable of technical events. In preliminary discussions with leading organisations in the Turkish industry, the ITA has received an enthusiastic welcome for the choice of Istanbul as conference venue.
