Enhanced tube bender for small and large radius bending

hydraulic collet chucks, hydraulic and anticipated mandrel retraction, pressure die assist and a minimal quantity mandrel lubrication device. The Tracto-Technik product range covers CNC tube bending machines up to 170mm OD, semi-automatic and 1-axis-controlled tube bending machines, tube end-forming machines, tube measuring systems, and piping software solutions. The company will be exhibiting its products at EuroBlech 2008 in Hanover, on stand E30 in hall 11. Tracto-Technik, a manufacturer of tube and pipe bending and fabricating machinery, has enhanced its 1-axis-controlled tube bender, Tubobend 90. The mandrel bender for tubes up to 90mm OD is now available in a version that features a maximum bending radius of up to 1,000mm (standard version: 250mm). Two of the new machines have been delivered to customers in Germany, enabling them to produce not only small radius tube bends but also precise, large radius tube bends with maximum repeat accuracy.

The machines are equipped with a Simatic touch panel control with menu- driven handling. Capabilities include automatic sequencing of bending angles and display of the desired and actual bending angle. A measuring system for the length and rotation position of the tube with digital display on the control panel is available on request. The Tubobend 90 bending machines also feature freestanding bending heads,

With over 500 automatic positioning speeds moving both lower rollers, the machine guarantees high precision in the transitions between straights and bends or between one radius and another. Simple programming is facilitated by default setup templates for the various geometries. It is managed by keying in the radii of the required bends. Files can be imported directly into the control using a DXF file format utilizing the USB interface or network connections for interfacing with other PCs for the data exchange. The operator can quickly setup and start the machine by using automatic encoder positioning, photo-eye start detection and the bending archive creation function.

CNC roll bender with advanced numerical controls

J&S Machine, USA, has launched the CR138-RIMW, a PC based CNC tube/pipe, angle, and section roll bender. The machine is the latest in the Tre C product line offered by the company.

The control (CNW333) used in the new machine is currently the most advanced version of the company’s numerical controls. Consisting of an industrial computer with Windows XP operating

system displayed on a 17" colour monitor, it manages the programming of up to 36 different radii on a single part. Itautomaticallycontrols over 100 roller rotation speeds, working on small bending radii and complex geometry such as ellipses, polygons and bending by points.
