Metal-Expo set for best ever show at new location

The event is one of the leading industrial trade shows held in Russia, the CIS and the Baltic States. It has become a primary networking arena for international and Russian steel makers and consumers. The Russian steel and metallurgy market is currently one of the strongest in the world and highly lucrative. The Russian metals market has grown by 15 per cent annually and, according to forecasts, there will be the same demand for metals in 2009-2015. Due to this healthy outlook, there has been a steadily increasing demand from the Russian metalworking industry for the most up-to-date technologies and equipment. Metal-Expo brings together a number of closely linked industries and incorporates a range of products. Exhibits will include tube and pipe, billets, profiles and long products (ferrous and non-ferrous), equipment and technologies for the steel and mining industries, raw materials for the steel industry, and ferrous and non-ferrous scrap collecting and recycling. Other products and services on display will be processing equipment for long products and sheet metal (welding, cutting and bending), transportation and logistics, equipment for warehouses, and scientific research and developments (including nanotechnology). Amongst the sponsors of Metal Expo are the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, International Metallurgists’ Union, Russian Union of Metal Exporters, and Russian Union of Metal and Steel Suppliers. The exhibition is also approved by UFI (Global Association of the Exhibition Industry), and the Russian Union of Exhibition and Fairs. Those exhibitors and visitors in attendance will also have the opportunity to take part as delegates in more than 60 conferences, seminars, and round tables. The event is sure to provide many mutually beneficial business contacts between Russian and international steel makers, consumers and equipment producers.

Metal-Expo 2008, Russia’s 14 th international industrial exhibition, will be held on 11-14 November at the Crocus Expo International Exhibition Centre, Moscow. Set to be the most successful event in its 14 year history, it will be the first time that the exhibition takes place at the ultra-modern Crocus Expo Centre.

Organisers Metal-Expo JSC has already confirmed the attendance of over 750 steel and other metal companies and related exhibitors from more than 30 countries. Taking place in halls 5, 6, 7, 8 and 11 of pavilion 2, the visitor attendance is expected to be in excess of 35,000 professionals.

 To build on the last successful show, Metal Expo 2008 will welcome over 750 exhibitors, with around 35,000 visitors expected

Mr Liddle, managing director of Asmag UK, commented, “This expansion program will allow Asmag in Austria to continue to give the highest priority to optimum customer care and consultation. New work will be generated from the office in the UK, but our experience will also be used to assist in reducing some of the pressures encountered by the parent company during its busier periods.” Whilst many companies outsource manufacturing and assembly requirements, Asmag are actually expanding their workshops to deal with an increase in turnover. Mr Liddle added, “Our combined experience in design, manufacture and assembly will put us in a unique position to research and add new technologies in the production of ferrous and
