In place of your fathers shall be your sons; you will make them princes in all the earth.

[all] I will cause your name to be remembered in all generations; therefore nations will praise you forever and ever.

S UMMARY OF THE L AW . . . . . . . . . . . . . Beth Celebrant I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.

People You shall have no other gods before me.

You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God, for the LORD will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name. Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you. You shall not murder. You shall not commit adultery. You shall not steal. You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor. You shall not covet . . . anything that belongs to your neighbor. Celebrant Jesus said, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets” (Matt. 22.37-40 ESV). O LD T ESTAMENT R EADING . . . . . . . . . . . . Brian Reader Our Old Testament reading is Genesis 24.34-38, 42-49. 58-67. [Text is read.] This is the Word of God.

People The word of the Lord endures forever. Amen.
