Fall 2005: Competed in the ITA West Regional tourna– ment in both the singles and doubles bracket.

Prior to USD: In addition to tennis, participated in soccer, cross country, and basketball at the San Diego Jewish Academy... Voted Soccer Player of the Year at SOJA his senior year. Personal: Recruited by Boston College and Emory University... Chose USO because it is close to home, it has a nice campus , and there are great people ... Undecided major.

SammyAtri 6-4 - Sophomore Mexico City, Mexico

Coetzee makes his debut with the Toreros this year. A native of Durban, South Africa , Coetzee received several awards during his prep career under coach Ant Willows at Kearsney College ... Chose USO for the impressive tennis facilities and coaching staff as well as the beautiful San Diego weather... Also recruited by UCSB and University of Nebraska-Lincoln .. . Older brother Sean is a junior at UNL... Loves to surf and play guitar. ... played B18 Doubles with teammate Chari Wolmarans .

Chris Coetzee 6-1 - Freshman Durban, So. Africa

Ryo is in his first season with the USO men 's tennis program ... from Tokyo , Japan , he attended Seijo Gakuen School. .. he was ranked at No. 242 internationally before becoming a Torero ... in June of 2004 he was the Boys 18 Singles Champion of the Thamrin Cup in Jakarta, Indonesia .. . he reached the Round of 16 in the Japan F10 Futures Tournament held in Tokyo in September, 2005 ... besides being recruited by Tulane and Georgia Tech , Ryo chose USO for its excellent tennis program. .. besides tennis , he enjoys skiing . He plans on majoring in Business .

Chari Wolmarans is in his first year as a Torero .A native of Cape Town , South Africa , Wolmarans chose to at– tend USO for the tennis program and the environment. He was also recruited by Arizona State , Miami , and Georgia Tech , among others . This past July he teamed with Brad Brinkhause Williams RSA at the SATPC Ju– nior Tournament in Hatfield , South Africa and won the B18 Doubles Championship . In November of 2004 , the duo were finalists at the Malaysian International. Wolmarans will major in Business at USO.
