STAKEHOLDER PROGRAMON INFANT FORMULA AND ADULT NUTRITIONALS (SPIFAN)

Martine van Gool, Ph.D., FrieslandCampina Lactoferrin Working Group

Martine van Gool is currently Research Manager of the Laboratory Team Dairy Physics & Chemistry for FrieslandCampina R&D. Her primary responsibility is for the team to deliver high quality results in the area of physical applications as well as in analytical chemistry.

This knowledge-based support provides input for high impact advices; steers product and process development; it facilitates optimization, trouble-shooting and communication; and it enables achievement of long-term strategic goals within the business. She maintains close alignment with the Quality Laboratory to drive alignment of analytical methods with business needs. She is a member of AOAC international and is active participant in the AOAC Stakeholder Panel for Infant Formula and Adult Nutritionals (SPIFAN). Since 2019 she serves as chair for the Working Group on Lactoferrin and serves in several Expert Review Panels regarding carbohydrates and proteins. Martine obtained a master’s degree in Food Technology and completed her PhD study in 2012 in Food Chemistry (Wageningen University, The Netherlands). She began her professional career in Cargill R&D (Cocoa & Chocolate division), followed by a career as Analytical Researcher at FrieslandCampina in 2015 in which she developed and executed analyses on (complex) carbohydrates and proteins (including hydrolysates).
