Investment in the Eastern European Market Hörmann acquires 75 per cent of the shares in the ALUTECH Group.

At the end of February, Martin J. Hörmann, personally liable partner of the Hörmann Group, signed the contract for the acquisition of 75 per cent of the shares in the ALUTECH Group with its headquarters in Minsk, Belarus. The company has been successfully offering door and shutter systems as well as aluminium doors and facades since 1996, focussing on Eastern Europe, but also partly in Western Europe. “The high in-house production depth and the range, which is similar to our product programme, create synergies that must be brought to light,” says Martin J. Hörmann, personally liable partner of the Hörmann Group. “The ALUTECH Group has a very strong position on the Eastern European market, which is highly interesting for us. Growth in business on the Western European market is, in turn, the aim of

ALUTECH, meaning that we can support each other perfectly.” The founder and current Managing Director, Alexej Zhukov, will continue to run the company and retain the remaining 25 per cent of the shares. “We want to pick up on the good contact in the nineties when ALUTECH started as a Hörmann sales partner,” explains Alexej Zhukov. Furthermore, the strong ALUTECH brand will be retained, “because it is very valuable in Eastern Europe,” says Martin J. Hörmann. “The merger of ALUTECH and Hörmann is also beneficial for the Belarusian economy, because we are expecting a boost in export volume and further investments in our production. It also showcases that it is worth setting up an independent company in Belarus, making the business interesting for international investors,” says Alexej Zhukov, Managing Director of the ALUTECH Group. Martin J. Hörmann adds: “We are delighted that we have found in ALUTECH an attractive and very efficient site in Belarus. The production sites are very modern.” The ALUTECH Group has five production factories, of which three are in Belarus, one in Russia and one more in the Ukraine. The products are sold in more than twenty sales organisations, primarily in Europe, but also in North America and Asia.
