Irish Solicitors' Golfing Society. The final round of the Competition for the Cup presented by the Council of the Incorpo rated Law Society of Ireland was between Mr. J. Barry Brown and Mr. William J. Byrne, and resulted in a win by Mr. J. Barry Brown.

MR. D. ]|PEDERICK

died upon the 9th July, 1923, at Belfast. Mr. Spiller was admitted in Michaelmas Term, 1875, and practised at 29 High Street, Belfast. MR. MICHAEL BERGIN, Solicitor, died upon the 20th July, 1923, at Greystones, Co. Wicklow. Mr. Bergin served his apprenticeship with the late Mr. Thomas O'Meara, 14 Fleet Street, Dublin, was admitted in Michaelmas Sittings, 1897, and practised at 56 Rutland Square, Dublin. MR. DAVID M. MORIARTY, Solicitor, died upon the 24th July, 1923. Mr. Moriarty was admitted in Trinity Sittings, 1885, and practised at Tralee up to the year 1916, when he was appointed Clerk of the Crown and Peace for the County of Kerry. THE RIGHT HONORABLE JOHN C. WHITE, died upon the 27th July, 1923, at Belfast. Mr. White who was admitted in Michaelmas Term, 1875, was member of the firm of White, McMillan, and Wheeler, 45 Arthur Street, Belfast, up to the year 1919, when he retired. He was Lord Mayor of Belfast for 1919, and was appointed a Privy Councillor in 1920. MR. JOHN HARBINSON, Solicitor, died upon the 31st July, 1923, at Belfast. Mr. Harbinson was admitted in Hilary Term, 1876, and practised at Magherfelt, Co. Londonderry. Commissioners for Oaths (Northern Ireland). The following have been appointed by the Lord Chief Justice of Northern Ireland to be Commissioners to Administer Oaths for the Counties Down and Armagh. J. Moore Boyle, Solicitor, Newry, and A. W. Devenish Meares, Solicitor, Newry. In addition, Mr. Boyle has been appointed Notary Public, and Commissioner for taking the acknowledgments of deeds, executed by married women.

The Society's Examinations. OCTOBER, 1923.

The following Examinations will be held at the Royal College of Surgeons, Stephen's Green, Dublin, in October next :— Preliminary—4th and 5th October— Notices to be lodged before 18th September. Intermediate—8th October—Notices to be lodged before 20th September. Final—9th, 10th, llth October—Notices to be lodged befofe 20th September. Notices to be lodged in the Secretary's Office, 33 Molesworth Street, Dublin. 1924 EXAMINATIONS. There will be two Preliminary Examina tions, one in April, the second in October. There will be two Intermediate Examina tions, one in July, the second in October. There will be two Final Examinations, one in April, the second in October. Those apprentices who would be entitled, by reason of the date of the expiration of their indentures, to attend a Final Examination in January, 1924, are at liberty to attend the Final Examination to be held on 9th, 10th and llth October, 1923.
