Death of Mr Quarry. A resolution was passed expressing the regret of the Council at the death of their colleague, Mr. George H. Quarry, of Belfast, and conveying to Mrs. Quarry the sympathy of the Council in her bereavement. Examinations. The report of the Court of Examiners on the results of the Preliminary and ~" Examinations was adopted. Final Appointments. Mr. Edmund J. Duggan, Solicitor, of 66 Dame Street, Dublin, has been appointed Minister of Home Affairs in the Provisional Government. Mr. Patrick Hogan, Solicitor, of Loughrea, Co. Galway, has been appointed Minister of Agriculture in the Provisional Government. Mr. Kevin O'Higgins, who has served his apprenticeship with a view to becoming a Solicitor, has been appointed Minister of Economics in the Provisional Government. Obituary. MR. GEORGE H. QUARRY, Solicitor, died upon the 12th January, 1922, at his residence, Spafield, Holywood, Co. Down. He served his apprenticeship with the late Mr. William Johns, Belfast ; was admitted in Hilary Sittings, 1885, and practised at 2 Garfield

2nd January.

TWenty-fonr Members present. The following resolution was adopted, and copies directed to be sent to Mr. de Valera, Mr. A. Griffith and Mr. E. J. Duggan :— " We, the Council of the Incorporated Law Society of Ireland, recognising the injury done to the material well-being of the community by public uncertainty and consequent disquietude, do hereby express an earnest hope that the deliberations of the Irish Representatives may result in a decision bringing peace to our country, so that without delay the work of construction may begin, and every citizen be free to take his part in building up the prosperity of the country on which the true interests of the legal profession must always be based."

25th January. Twenty-six Members present. Provisional Government.

A resolution was passed expressing the congratulations of the Council to Messrs. Duggan, Hogan and O'Higgins on their inclusion in the Cabinet of the Provisional Government.
