2016 ACCOMPLISHMENTS

BUILT ENVIRONMENT & NEIGHBOURHOODS

 Initiated the development of two odour control facilities.

 Continued the development of servicing strategies for the Abbey Ridge LAP, Redwood Heights NCP, Newton Town Centre LAP and City Centre NCP; and

ECOSYSTEMS

 Continued sewer rehabilitation and cross connection investigation in an effort to reduce the inflow and infiltration (“I&I”) rate by completing the Robson Creek Catchment Rehabilitation and Renewal program study.

 Continued to upgrade sewer with capacity constraints to avoid sanitary sewer overflows into environmental sensitive watercourse by completing two sewer relief construction packages;  Installed standby generators and

emergency overflow tanks at four pump stations and upgraded one pump station; and

EDUCATION & CULTURE

 Participated with Metro Vancouver in outreach programs such as the Grease Reduction Campaign and Unflushables Campaign to reduce the flushing of grease and wipes in the sanitary sewer system.

HEALTH & WELLNESS

 Completed various system replacements to address aging infrastructure and reduce the likelihood of basement flooding and sanitary sewer overflows.

INFRASTRUCTURE

 Completed design and started 1.5 year-long construction of sewer improvements in Bridgeview.
