Misericórdia you`ll get to the Bairro Alto. This parish is packed with cafés, bars and restaurants, as well as several stores and antique shops. Bairro Alto, along with Alfama is probably one of the best neighborhoods to listen to Portugal’s famous Fado music. Areeiro form a lively neighborhood where it is a pleasure to walk, surrounded by so much to do. The housing style varies from small clusters of single homes to high-rise buildings among a strong commercial zone. The most popular shopping destinations are found on Avenidas Roma, Guerra Junqueiro and João XXI. Its proximity to the Instituto Superior Técnico has made this neighborhood a destination for countless students from around the country seeking an apartment near campus. This is still an area attractive to families, with mini-neighborhoods offering characteristic housing and amenities, such as the neighborhoods of São Miguel or Arco do Cego.

During the drive learn how this former agrarian village evolved into an influential Catholic pilgrimage site in 1917 after three children claimed to witness an apparition of the Virgin Mary. Uncover the details of this lady later known as Our Lady of Fátima and visit the sanctuary dedicated to her. See the shrine where over 4 million worshipers travel every year to give homage. Then, explore the Chapel of Apparitions where the gravestones of two of the three children rest and where the Virgin Mary emerged in front of them nearly a century ago. Afterwards, experience more of this historic Catholic site on your own and attend an optional mass. In the afternoon we will visit the walled city of Obidos where you’ll see craft shops, art galleries, and flower-decked houses that line the narrow medieval streets.

DAY 1 - MALTA - LISBON

Meet the tour manager at Malta International Airport for your flight to Lisbon. Upon arrival you will be transferred to your 4* hotel.

DAY 2 - LISBON - AREEIRO

Breakfast and proceed for full day tour of Lisbon a coastal city known for its cafe culture and soulful Fado music. This city is rich in architecture; Romanesque, Gothic, Manueline, Baroque. Modern and Postmodern constructions can be found all over Lisbon. The city is also crossed by historical boulevards and monuments along themain thoroughfares, particularly in the upper districts. In the afternoon you will head to Chiado and Bairro Alto, two of the most striking neighborhoods in Lisbon. Chiado was rebuilt after parts of it were destroyed by a fire that took place in 1998. The main streets of the district are called Rua do Carmo, where the ruins of Carmo Church are, fruit of the 1755 great earthquake. The other important street is called Rua da Garrett.
