CHAPTER TWO

YouTube Is Born

A ll successful companies start with a great idea. Actually putting that plan into action is another story, however. Startup compa- nies need resources such as funding, a place to work, and em- ployees that are willing to work for very little payout until the company can get on its feet. They were willing to stick with the company while it was in its beginning stages because of their experience with PayPal. They knew they would be providing a service to the world that wasn’t available before they came up with it. Their primary goal was to help the world share videos in a way no one could before. If the three friends could get rich in the process, so much the better!
