1998-99 West Coast Conference First Team 1998-1999: Posted one of the most dominant seasons ever by a USO post pl ayer. .. Led US O in rebounding (6.9) and ranked fifth in the West Coast Conference... The Toreros second leading overall scorer ( 12.2) and led USO in WCC play ( 12.7), ranking eighth in the conference in overall scoring , sixth in league contests ... Ranked second on the team, seventh in the WCC in field goal percentage (.523) ... Exploded for a career-high 26 points on I 1-15 shooting against Cal Poly ( 12-5-98), also added a career-best six steals against the Mustangs ... Only Torero to post a double-double in 1998-99, and accom- plished the feat four times... Was only USO player to earn WCC Player of the Week honors ( 1-11-99 ; 2-15-99) .. . Won first POW nod after propelling USD to a dramatic 53- 51 victory against defending league champion Santa Clara ( 1-9-99), scoring 18 points on 8-1 I shooting in 19 minutes off the bench despite pl ay ing on a broken toe... Earned second se lection after posting consecutive double-doubles in USD' s 73-70 overtime victory against Portl and (2- 11-99) and a 72-54 win against Gonzaga (2-13-99) ... Led USO in scoring on ten occasions; rebounding 17 times, including six consecutive games to close the season... Established career-highs in virtually every category in 1998-99... Swatted four blocked shots on two occasions against Denver ( 12-9-98) and at Portland (2-6-99) ... Blocked more shots (3 1) in 1998-99 than in the previous two years (28) and ranked first on the team, tied for third in the WCC ( 1.2). 1997-98: Recorded three double-doubles in points and rebounds against Fairfield (14, 12), CS Fullerton (16, 10), Cal Poly ( 14, 12)... Career-high 16 points against Cal Poly... Led team in rebounds per game (6.0) and offen– sive boards (42). 1996-97: One of two pl ayers to play in all 27 games... Grabbed a career- high 12 rebounds in WCC Tourney game vs. Portland... Ranked second on the team in rebounds ( 133)... Averaged 5.3 rebounds per game in WCC play, second on the team.
