Corporate Culture and Values

An organisation always has a certain „style“ that is transmitted to everyone in the organisation.

Successful organisations are good at encouraging their members to cooperate and pull in the same direction. They should have a number of values that through examples make people understand what the orga- nisation stands for and what is important and what is unacceptable. It is very important that an organisation identifies its values, illustrating such benefits clearly show what qualities and actions they believe are right and which are wrong. This is especially important when expanding and recruiting personnel as it forms the basis for the success of the organisation. The following pages define our values with a head- line for each statement and some examples to highlight the meaning.

Our External and Internal face

The values are divided into two categories:

Our “External” Face is how EWAB is perceived from the outside world. Our “Internal” Face is how we want the organisation to be viewed from within.

We know that it is our customers who pay our salaries

º A satisfied customer is one who receives the product that he has ordered, better and faster than expected. º A satisfied customer will maintain us on their supplier list. º A satisfied customer will if possible favour us in the next project. º A disappointed customer may take us off their preferred suppliers list and not use us again. º Old customers are not necessarily faithful. º Everything we do must be of the best quality. º We must never compromise product quality. º Bad news travels fast. º Our customer expects our working environment to be as professional as our products. º In a disordered and untidy environment it is not possible to produce a quality product.

We always arrive on time

º We are always punctual for all types of meetings and discussions. º We deliver within the time frame agreed. º We keep to time schedules by active planning.

3

We keep our promises

º We always achieve our commitments. º The customer must know assistance is available when he needs it. This service however is not always free. º We keep to time schedules by active planning.

4

We are all business engineers

º We listen more than we talk. º We always represent the company in all situations. º All external contacts can create future business opportunities. º How we act now can influence the next order.

5

We are always mentally prepared

º We are always punctual for all types of meetings and discussions. º We deliver within the time frame agreed. º We keep to time schedules by active planning.

6

We believe in Fair Play

º We believe that honesty always pays off in the long run. º We rise above temptation to retaliate against competitors, even when provoked.

7

We are always friendly and positive

º How we behave during meetings and in commu- nicating with customers will be identified as “the external face” of EWAB . º It is difficult to be irritated with someone who is positive and friendly.

8

We dress to suit the occasion

º When we meet customers we always try to match their dress code. º If the dress code is not known, white shirt and tie is never wrong. º Installation personnel should always wear affili- ated clothing at installations. º Clean clothing should always be worn during acceptance tests.

9

We seek possibilities instead of problems

º Every problem is an improvement possibility. º We do not accept negative thinking. º Persons who cannot identify with the company culture should seek other employment.

10

We know that team work leads to increased profitability

º With a well-composed team the possibilities for success increase. º Team work is based on mutual respect between all members of the team. º In a team everyone knows their task and contri- butes in the best possible way. º An organisation consists of many different teams/roles that together make up a whole. º Without everyone’s cooperation goals are dif- ficult to reach. º We know that persons who partake or partici- pate in team activities outside the working place work well within the EWAB company. º The expression that is not “my business” does not exist.

11

We work and plan in coordinated teams

º We know that many small meetings save a lot of time. º Scheduled meetings shall not exceed one hour. º A successful meeting always has an agenda and a chairman. º Meetings should also have a secretary and pro- tocol. º When the frequency of the meeting goes down, throughput goes down too.

Internal

12

We believe in a simple and flat organisation

º The EWAB Group has only two levels. º The different levels of the organisation depend on the planning perspective. º The Sierra teams coach the local organisations in reaching targets and objectives. º Reports are aimed at creating feed-back and setting future goals, not recording history.

13

We have results in view

º We take personal responsibility towards our common objectives. º We know that high profitability is the basis for our possibilities of development.

We know that nothing is for free

14

º We know that nothing can be taken for granted. º The only thing that gives real results is hard work. º Everything we buy that is unnecessary is a loss. º A missed invoice is a 100% loss.

15

We are proud of our capabilities

º We know that our products and members are of the highest caliber. º We know we have to take on challenges to be even better. º We strive always to do our best. º We are not afraid to compare ourselves with others. º We learn from success, training and mistakes.

16

We engage in active communication

º Everyone shall be able to talk with everyone. º Communication means a two-way information/ dialogue, not a one-way monologue. º Our targets are formed in such a way that expec- ted results appear clear and evident for everyone.

We know that IT and Data Security is very important for our business

17

º We know how to deal with confidential information º We protect our data and those of our customers º We secure internal and external information

18

We encourage innovation

º All ideas will be encouraged. º We recognise creativity.

19

We develop the ability to take responsibility through educational interests both as individuals and team members

º We recognise the ability to make unexpected efforts. º We strive towards the goal of increasing individual’s responsibility.

20

We encourage individual initiatives and personal development

º We support our employee’s educational interests both as individuals and team members.

21

We care

º We want a creative working environment. º We encourage team building activities. º We pay attention to and respect each other. º We want to have everything in good order and under control in the working place. º We support each other.
