He seemed to really slow down during the winter.” Mr. Wei continued to count the fast-moving crickets crawling around in the clear plastic bag. “Well, that is what happens with cold-blooded reptiles.” Snapping the rubber band used to seal the bag, he handed it to Jesse. “Cold temperatures don’t only affect reptiles, you know. Have you noticed a difference in your crickets, too?” Jesse held up the bag and looked at the insects squirming and crawling over each other. “No, not really.”
