1968 Alvin H. Huff of Marco Island, Florida, passed away on November 29, 2018. Alvin was a school bus driver for Collier County Public Schools. He was previously employed as a pastor with Dorcas Baptist Church and with Baltimore County Schools in Maryland. Virginia, passed away on November 20, 2017. Bobby taught in the Lancaster County Public Schools and residential carpentry at the Northern Neck Technical Center. He was a member of the Upper Lancaster Volunteer Fire Department, the Lancaster County Junior Chamber of Commerce (Jaycees), the Virginia Jaycees, and the Lancaster County Moose Lodge No. 2527. Bobby coached Little League baseball for the county and football at Lancaster High School. He was a scoutmaster with Boy Scout Troop 222. Eleanor LeSueur Green of Charlottesville, Virginia, passed away on December 4, 2018. She was a registered nurse employed by Culpeper Memorial Hospital in Culpeper, Virginia and Anthem, Incorporated in Richmond, Virginia. Benjamin “Benny” M. Rollison of Franklin, Virginia passed away February 26, 2019. He retired from the sales department of Franklin Equipment Company. Then, he worked for Southampton Cutting Industry and was a member of the Bronco Rod and Gun Club. 1970 Ida Love Allgood of Boydton, Virginia, passed away on May 21, 2011. 1971 Donald R. Wilson of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away February 19, 2016. Don worked for Electronic Data Systems and General Motors for 26 years in information technology. After retirement, he worked at Lowe’s Home Improvement. Don volunteered with the Boy Scouts, the American Youth Soccer Organization and the children’s programs at Mecklenburg Community Church. Don was a former member of the University City YMCA board of managers and the Homeowner Association Board of Directors where he earned his loving title as “The Mayor”. 1972 Sharon J. Knick of Buena Vista, Virginia, passed away on December 1, 2018. Sharon taught first grade at Enderly Heights School for 30 years. She served her community through the American Red Cross, the Rockbridge Regional Library Foundation Board, the Rockbridge Retired Teachers Association and was past president of the Bluefield College Alumni Association. Chambers of Glasgow, West Virginia, passed away on April 30, 2018. Jerry was a former antique dealer for more than 20 years in Sarasota, Florida and very knowledgeable in antiques. 1969 Robert “Bobby” S. Forrester of Lancaster, 1974 Rebecca Woody Fitzgibbons of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away on February 22, 2019. She was employed for 43 years at Henry County Schools.

Friends Fred S. Ayscue of Blue Ridge, Virginia, passed away on October 10, 2018. He had previously served on the Board of Trustees at Bluefield College in Bluefield, Virginia and was a Deacon at Bonsack Baptist Church. Fred retired from the Social Security Sector with 35 years of service in 16 different locations. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and cowboy movies. Juanita Hackworth Harman of Bedford, Virginia, passed away April 11, 2019, at Guggenheimer Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Charles Lee Harman , for whom Harman Chapel was named. Juanita was a retired executive secretary for General Electric. To send online condolences to the family, please visit www.whittentimberlake.com in the United States Navy during World War II. After working with Paper Supply, John began a thirty-year broadcasting career with Bluefield’s WHIS/WHAJ Radio/WHIS TV, WBTW TV, Florence, South Carolina, and KIMT TV, Mason City, Iowa. He was the Vice President and General Manager of all broadcast operations for the Daily Telegraph Printing Company and served as board member and past president of the West Virginia Broadcasters Association. John served as the Director of various local businesses and was on the Republican State Executive Committee and the Chairman for the Republican State Party in the 1960’s. He served in leadership positions for numerous community organizations and events, especially the Community Christmas Tree Association. John was the recipient of the American Legion Riley Vest Post No. 9 Distinguished Citizen Award, the Bluefield Jaycees Man of the Year, and the Boy Scouts of American Distinguished Citizen Award. He was a member and deacon of Westminster Presbyterian Church. John is survived by his two sons, John H. Shott , and Michael R. Shott , and nephew, James H. Shott, III , all friends of Bluefield College. George W. Van Devender of Carriere, Mississippi, passed away on April 24, 2019. He was an English professor at Bluefield College from 1963 – 1975 and an interim pastor and guest preacher in many area pulpits. George’s wife, Fay Van Devender , was the secretary to two professors at Bluefield College, Dr. Primitivo Delgado and Dr. Charles Harmon . He served as a flight instructor

Wesley “Mack” M. Lovelace of Emory, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, January 12, 2019. Mack worked with feeding, spaying, and helping abandoned animals to live out their life. Linda Almond McDaniel of Winchester, Virginia, passed away March 23, 2018. Linda was the Homecoming Queen at Bluefield College in 1974. She was employed as a programmer analyst/ systems specialist by Averett University, Dan River, Inc., S.A.I.C. Winchester Medical Center and New Hanover Medical Center. Linda enjoyed volunteering for Frederick County Public Schools, Free Medical Clinic and Girl Scouts of America. She participated in the Winchester Adult Spelling Bee, was an avid Redskins fan and loved going to Hawaii. 1981 Carolyn L. Browning of Tazewell, Virginia, passed away on August 12, 2012. Dr. Browning served as an interim pastor and pastor at several churches in Virginia, North Carolina, and West Virginia. She was an associate professor at Southwest Virginia Community College, Business & Industry Training Specialist at Bluefield State, Director and Dean of the Mercer County/Bluefield Campus of New River Community & Technical College, and National College. Dr. Browning had traveled extensively across the country as a professional trainer for more than 18 years. 2002 Tami Shields Smith of Richmond, Virginia, passed away on January 18, 2017. She was a member of the United States Army Reserves receiving accolades as The Distinguished Honor Graduate of her basic military training course. 2006 Timothy C. Paul of Chester, Virginia, passed away on October 28, 2016. 2014 Jordan Lambert Filer of Bluefield, West Virginia, passed away on July 23, 2018 after a lifelong battle with diabetes. Jordan met her husband, Keith, at Bluefield College and they were married on July 19, 2014. Jordan enjoyed coaching gymnastics at Peak Gymnastics in Bluefield, crafting, and riding in her Jeep Wrangler with the doors off. In September of 2017, Jordan’s ultimate dream of having a child came true, and she brought her son, Andrew Talon, into the world. 2015 Armani D. Ford of Clairton, Pennsylvania, passed away on April 26, 2019. He was a quarterback for the Bluefield College Rams football team and was employed by the KBRB Cleaning Company in Columbus, Ohio.
