The roots of Belgian artist Freddy De Waele’s education lie in the pastry world with specializations in chocolate-sugar. He taught 40 years in a well-known Belgian hotel school. To optimize the design in chocolate, he followed many years of sculpting and drawing at the academy. From this experience, the passion grew to also work with bronze to bypass the limitations of chocolate. Freddy De Waele gets his inspiration from the many exhibitions he attends at home and abroad but the work of Rodin remains a source of inspiration. There’s a certain playfulness in the works of De Waele, his works are versatile and universal.
