Already since her childhood Mieke Deweerdt (1981) was fascinated by art and making drawings, paintings and even pieces in ceramics, so she attended evening classes at the Art Academy. She studied Visual and Free Arts at the Technical Institute H. Family in Bruges and later attended the St. Lucas Academy in Ghent to study Sculpting and received a teaching education.
